Question: In reality how soon can you start testing and how accurate is the test?

The test is guaranteed at 25mIU/ml HCG.
But in practice it can measure as low as 10mIU/ml... allowing it to detect hCG levels in urine as early as 7 days post conception for some women...and becomes 99% reliable by the day of the missed period. This is because during the first couple of weeks of pregnancy i.e. that couple of weeks between conception and the first day of the missed period the level of hCG varies so greatly between pregnant women that the test will show positive for some pregnant women during this time and negative for others. This means that if a woman tests before the day of her missed period and gets a positive it it is a good indication of pregnancy... but if she gets a negative before the first day of her missed period then it may be that she has just tested too early and it should therefore be considered as an unreliable result! By the first day of the missed period 99% of pregnant women will have a level of at least 25mIU/ml and will therefore see a good strong positive result.

Question: What if the test changes colour, but the colour isn't the same as mentioned in the instructions?

Answer: If the test is positive, the round results window will retain a line of some shade of pink/purple colour after the two minute waiting period. The line can be any shade of pink/purple and does not have to match the colour pictured or the colour present in the square control window.

Question: What if I don't wait the full two minutes before reading the result?

Answer: If you read the test result before the full two minutes have passed, you may not give the test time to work and the results may be inaccurate.

Question: What if I don't think that the results of the test are correct?

Answer: If you follow the instructions carefully, you should not get a false result. Certain drugs and rare medical conditions may give a false result. Analgesics, antibiotics and birth control pills should not affect the result. If you repeat the test and continue to get an unexpected result, contact your doctor
